Witnessing the ICC World Cup since its outset, supine across the flat floor, I just mused over the idea why one might expect the “gora” students more invigorated than the rest. As part of a facetious reverie, all I could wonder was that the students there wouldn’t have to stand and loiter forcefully to sing their respective national anthem in the assembly halls/grounds.
Unlike their subcontinental national anthems where I can only surmise empathy trodden school kids mumbling the misconstrued musical composition under the bare, scorching sun, I am intrigued by the idea how the Dutch, Canadian, American and other “white nationals” might feel as a pageant, opera star would sing a thought in front of them. Subversive, yet just a thought.
