Know your ‘Lines’

It’s all about lines: The finishing lines at the end of your career at one job, and then moving in line with a new job at a new agency. Then there is the most important line – the line separating you from the people with whom you work with. It doesn’t help to get too familiar; to make friends. You need boundaries to separate you from the rest of the world. Other people are far too messy. In the end, as I just said: It’s all about the lines – drawing lines in the sand, and praying like hell that nobody crosses them.

At some point, you have to make a decision: boundaries don’t keep other people out – they fence you in. Life is messy: that’s how we are made. So you can waste your life drawing lines or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines – that are too dangerous to cross. So make sure you have utter self control. Here is what I have learnt and want you to know: if you want to live your life, you need to take your chances. The experience is mind blowing!
